Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup regular or nonalcoholic beer
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
4 rye or whole wheat hamburger buns, split
Ketchup, if desired. Pickle planks, if desired

Preparation:

Heat coals or gas grill Mix all ingredients except buns,ketchup and pickles.Shape mixture into patties using Burger Mate.Grill patties uncovered about 4 inches from medium heat 10 to 15 minutes, turning once, until no longer pink in center and juice is clear.Add buns, cut sides down, for last 4 minutes of grilling or until toasted. Top burgers with ketchup and pickle planks; serve on buns.
